Here is a whole bundle of pictures showing the model going through it's conversion from the supplied model to the late model with no schurzen. The first few pics show the removal of the existing exhaust pipes and the addition of the Flamvernichter exhausts made of 30mm copper pipe. The next few show removal of the moulded side skirts and the conversion to straight sides. After this you can see the addition of the crew heater over the left hand engine cooling fan, followed by the removal and fabrication of brass mud guards. The next group show some of the bracing added to the chassis and the rear crew hatch being made to work. The last pictures show what the model looked like prior to painting.

Here we have some pictures of the finished model. The layout is now finalised and unlikely to change now. The sound, smoke and gun all had changes made until we reached the final form here, sometimes two or three changes! The model runs from 12v and is all electric-no i.c. engine. It uses four Yuasa 12v 7Ah batteries wired in parallel, fused at 40A, not the best of choice maybe but they were free! The radio control kit is a six channel Hi-Tec Focus 6 configured for 40Mhz. It has G.W.S. Programstar electronic speed controllers and a KHR Sound MC2000 electronic sound module which has a digital recording of a real Maybach engine! These are all fan cooled. There is a control panel which has a master on/off switch, accessory switch (sound and smoke), and gun safety switch. It also has a battery meter, volume control and charging socket. Mounted in the superstructure is a 15 round 8mm blank firing starting pistol which is rigid with the gun barrel. At the rear of the chassis is a fan driven smoke generator and three high powered magnetically shielded loudspeakers. Just to the right of the speaker box is a brass filler tube to the smoke generator. In the close up view of the smoking exhausts can be seen the towing hitch. This is used to tow a trolley on which can be mounted another model or a person!
